You're Invited to Enter
The Conjure the Moment Art Contest
As they world was coming back together after a year and a half of social isolation, we decided to host an art contest, inviting in your ideas and sketches for a new brush to represent the moment we were all experiencing.
We had at least 20 people enter, submitting rough sketches to us of a new FYH Brush design, with a few words to capture the meaning of the sketch. Rae Hirsch sketched poppies blooming, and beautiful words about re-building community- and when we shared each design and invited y’all to choose your favorite, you chose hers.
We did a limited small batch of these brushes, and Rae got to choose where a percentage of sales went back to- a grassroots social justice organization in her community, and when we ranout, people kept asking for these brushes to come back. We ended up arranging with Rae to purchase her beautiful design so we could keep making these brushes, and today, the floral brush is still our most beloved brush. Today, we feel a moment is ripe for another art contest- a brush design created by one of you toc onjure the collective moment. And so we are excited to announce the 2025 FYH Brush Conjuring the Moment Art Contest.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
A pep talk - you do not have to be an accomplished artist. You do not need digital skills. You justneed hand-sketching skills and a vision for a symbol or drawing that hold a bit of meaning tomeet the moment. The sky is literally the limit.
HOW TO ENTER:
Take a look at the template (linked here). This is the size that the design will need to be. Make sure your sketch fits the shape in a balanced way. Take a photo of your sketch and post it, and tag us. Send it to us via DM.There will be a 2 week window for submissions.
HOW WE'LL CHOOSE A WINNER:
Once we receive them all, we will ask for your votes and YOU will collectively choose your favorite design.
WHAT YOU'LL WIN:
We will engrave a batch of 20 of these limited addition brushes. 20% of sales will go to an organization chosen by the artist, and the artist will receive a gift brush and a $200 payment for their design and be featured on our social media page, where they can share about their process and vision, and the meaning of their design. We invite as many sketches as you wish to submit- the more the merrier and we thank you so much for participating!
